I was in charge of programming for the first meeting of the Oak Park chapter of the Bad Movie Club. I'd heard this movie was bad, but whoo. It fit into the category of bad movie often referred to as the boring movie, the movie so mind-numbingly dull that the bad movie club members are bludgeoned into silence by it.

The film focuses on the mundane events of a film director named Alan Smithee, a man driven to his wits' end by the overbearing interference of his film's producer. When he wants to have his name taken off, he's stymied by the director's guild rules that say directors can replace their name only with the name Alan Smithee. Such a great premise, but a terrible movie.
